Today it's a year since Yacob George, our General Manager at passed away .
We all miss him !
He was an inspiration to all of us and led The Bangala to greater heights and recognition.
He is still fondly remembered by the staff, our guests and the Bangala family.
His legacy will always be cherished!

The seasons first group of bikers just stopped over at recently. They have a great route , chennai- pondycherry - Tanjore - Chettinad - periyar- kochi (the backwaters) and fly out. The bikes then return with a another group. Beautiful weather, adventure and solid bikes to ride. The Bangala provides an ideal night halt with its pool, ambience and food. Many excursions are available out of Chettinad with the coast nearby. An ideal route even for family driving holidays.

Recently the "pettagam"(safebox) opened as a jewellery shop for "Meenu Subbiah Diamonds(MSD) . Built by the family that created , in keeping with the traditional Chettinad architectural styles. It blends beautifully with the other two buildings on the street. The MS house built around 1860's (red tile roof) and the MSMM house (black pillars) built 1924. A wonderful architectural spectacle..
