A recent review by one of our esteemed guests
For those seeking peace and tranquility, it hardly gets better than this. You are greeted by birds chirping, not the rush and din of vehicular traffic. The house is located at Garkhal, about 3.5 kilometres before you reach Kasauli. The location is serene with a lot of greenery around, and a few houses too (so it's not in an isolated corner, you see). The nearby Garkhal market is a ten-minute pleasant walk away. You'll get all basic supplies in the market. There are vegetable vendors, chemists, departmental stores, grocery shops, a tyre repair shop as well as a couple o' chemists in the market, thus providing cover for all basic requirements. The house itself is quite well-maintained and pretty clean. Rama, the caretaker, is a very pleasant, hardworking and helpful lady. She stays upstairs with her two charming kids and also her husband. She attends to every query/errand quite promptly and efficiently. Comes once in a day to clean up the entire house. But she's almost always there in case you need any extra help. I went with my one-and-half-year-old child so can safely say that the place is kid-friendly. For those who wish to cook their own meal, the kitchen has all the basic stuff you'd need. You can easily get more supplies from the marketplace. There are a couple of places that also home deliver vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian fare. We tried the food from Snowland Dhaba. It was like a homemade meal and they readily customised it according to our requirements/suggestions. Guriqbal is a fabulous host. Though he was travelling, he answered every call and made sure that we have a pleasant stay. I would definitely have liked to meet him but as I said, he was travelling. Have attached a few pics that'll tell the rest of the story.
