Khushwant Singh Lit fest. Kasauli, 2016.
3 day festival stationed in Kasauli club in the midst of Army cantonment, at a time when possible threat of war with Pakistan looming over our head and Kashmir issue. The talks maintained their level of dignity and discipline.
This festival speaks of old word charm, intimate conversations, women in pearls and finest Pashmina shawls.
Where else would you find men with pocket square, flat cap, Fedora, Panama hats and crisp yard of cotton folded in the royal elegance of our India headgear – Turban, dressed in impeccable autumn winter style.
Where else in a lit fest, is it possible to see the gentry sipping the spicy Bloody Mary with roasted peanuts discussing the relevant talks of the day, politics, love, agreements, disagreements and of course the ever entertaining Arnab Goswami.
For those who love the beauty of the hills, the old world charm and want to revisit their roots of being born to a Fauji - get on that winding road in foothills of Himalayas to Kasauli in 2017.
You will be magically transported to another world. To a world of beautiful sunsets, crisp evenings infused with the aroma of pine, whisky, conversations and more.
