In support of the Kerala Government’s campaign to spread awareness about the dangers of destructive substances, CGH Earth participated in a session conducted by the Labour, Excise, and Police Departments. Post the session, every CGHer took a pledge to say ‘No to Drugs’ and tied a ribbon on each other’s hand to stand in solidarity with this good cause.

One of the recent sessions was a training programme on wine conducted by a WSET3 certified sommelier from Fratelli Vineyards. Annie has been an important member of the team at CGH Earth for the past 32 years. She began her journey at the Front Office at Casino Hotel and was promoted to housekeeper in a few years. She continued in that role for ten years, after which, in August of 1999, she moved to Brunton Boatyard and worked there till 2010. Her experience was then required at Marari Beach (2010-2013) and Coconut Lagoon (2013-2017), and eventually she returned to Brunton Boatyard in 2017 and continued to excel till her last working day on 28th July 2021. Wherever she went, she made us proud and was a role model for our values, our service quality, and teamwork.

Creating a Terrarium is one of my passions. This process takes a very long time and you need a lot of patience. I did my first work in 2012, and then whenever time permitted. I had some time on my hands during the lockdown and hence did a couple of them. Mobile Photography is my other passion. My gallery is always filled with photographs of the nature around me.

The lockdown has been tough. My marriage to Saranya on 26th April had to be postponed. To cheer myself up, I started experimenting with cooking. First, I made my all-time favourite – egg puffs. It actually worked! Someday, I will be cooking the same recipe with my wife and thinking about my lockdown days.

Back in 2017, CGH Earth gave curry leaf saplings to partners to promote a clean, green, healthy future. During the lockdown, I realised we’ve been eating curry leaves from the same plants grown at home. So, I expanded my garden to grow fenugreek, ginger, ajwain, lemongrass, and now tomatoes!

Dance gave me the freedom to express my emotions and channel the energy I had into an art I love. As a classical Bharatanatyam dancer, I do not need a stage to practice my art; my terrace was enough, and I think I had quite an audience as well.
