Greetings from Indiatourism, Chennai.
As you are aware, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, classifies, Homestay/Bed & Breakfast establishments in accordance with the prescribed guidelines and due procedures.
This office has been receiving a significant number of applications from Kodaikanal for classification of Homestay and B&B units. However, it has been observed that many promoters are not fully aware of the online application process. Also, during inspections, a lack of professionalism in areas such as housekeeping, hygiene, manners, and etiquettes among promoters and support staff is evident.
To address these gaps, Indiatourism Chennai has planned to conduct a training programmes/workshops Kodaikanal for unit owners and caretakers, focusing on:
· Incredible India B&B/Homestay Classification Guidelines – Providing clarity on the application and classification process.
· Grooming & Communication Skills – Sensitizing stakeholders to the importance of professional appearance and effective communication.
· Housekeeping & Hygiene – Ensuring units offer clean, hygienic, and guest-ready facilities.
The workshop will be held at Hotel Tamil Nadu, Kodaikanal on 8th September 2025 (Monday) as per the below itinerary:
