About Mandarmani: Mandarmani is situated approximately 180 kms away from Kolkata in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. It is the most popular newly developed beach in West Bengal.

How To Go Mandarmani:

Railways
You may take trains that depart from Howrah JN and go to Digha Station. From Digha Station one should take a hired car to reach Mandarmani by road which is an hour's journey.

Roadways
You will have to take the same road which goes to Digha upto Chawalkhola. There is a diversion from Chawalkhola for Mandarmani, which is 14 kms .The last 5 kms of the journey is on the sea beach.

Panchalingeswar, named after the five 'LINGAS' of Shiva that are enshrined in the temple is located on top of a hillock near the Nilagiri hills. The lingams are said to have been enshrined by Sita, the consort of Lord Rama during the period of their exile while another story holds that it was King Banasura himself who installed the lingams at this place given the tranquility and captivating beauty of the place. A perennial stream, which is the main attraction of the area, regularly washes the lingams as it flows over them. In order to touch and worship the lingams one has to lie flat on the rock parallel
to the stream.

Panchalingeswar could be a very adventurous place. You can trek on the top of the mountains to see the forest and the whole Nilgiri hill range. If you are lucky enough you may see a pack of elephants passing by your path.

Panchalingeswar is 260 km from Kolkata and 30 km from Balasore.

the Sundarbans which is the largest mangrove forest in the world.

HOW TO GO-
BY ROAD- Kolkata -> Baruipur-> Dakshin Barasat-> Mohishmari -> Jamtala Bazaar-> Piyali Island.

BY TRAIN- Sealdah to Dakshin Barasat (Lakshmikantapur local). Avail trekker from Dakshin Barasat to Piyali Island (24 kms)

WHERE TO STAY- There is only one lodge which is a budget category hotel with restaurant.

WHAT TO CARRY- Candle, torch, mosquito coil or mat or cream, seasonal dress.

DON’T
FORGET- There is no electricity connection in Piyali Island yet.
