গত ১১ ই নভেম্বরে রাতের বেলায় প্রেসিডেন্সি কলেজ গার্লস হোস্টেলের চারতলায় উপস্থিত প্রথম বর্ষের ছাত্রীদের রুমের সামনে থাকা পার্কে একটি লোক আসেন । এরপর আলো জ্বালিয়ে মেয়েদের উত্যক্ত করা শুরু করেন এবং পরবর্তী কালে কিছু অপ্রীতিমূলক কাজের দ্বারা মেয়েদের যৌণ হেনস্থা করেন (এই একই ঘটনা কোনো না কোনো রুমের সামনে দিনের পর দিন হয়ে আসছে ও আমরা বার বার আমাদের হোস্টেল সুপারকে বিষয়টি জানাই কিন্তু তা সত্ত্বেও একই ঘটনা বারংবার দিনের পর দিন ঘটতে থাকে )। এরপর প্রথম বর্ষের ছাত্রী ভয় পেয়ে তাদের সিনিয়র দের ডাকে ,সেইমুহূর্তে সিনিয়ররা আসে। ওইমুহূর্তেই মেয়েরা তাদের হোস্টেল সুপারকে এই বিষয়ে জানায় ও ম্যামকে অনেক অনুরোধ করার পর উনি পুলিশ কে ফোন করেন এবং মেয়েরা সিকিউরিটি গার্ডদের অনুরোধ করে ওই লোকটির গাড়িটির নম্বর প্লেট এর ছবি তুলে আনার জন্য যাতে পুলিশকে দেখাতে পারে কিন্তু ম্যাম-এর অনুমতি ছাড়া তাঁরা আমাদের সহযোগিতা করতে অস্বীকার করেন। মেয়েরা ভীত-সন্ত্রস্ত হয়ে ম্যামকে ফোন করে বাইরে আসার জন্য অনুরোধ করে কিন্তু তিনি রুমের মধ্যে থেকে বার বার বলতে থাকেন, *" তোমরা আমাকে এত রাতে বার বার কেনো ফোন করছ?"* ও মেয়েদের বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যে অভিযোগ লাগাতে থাকেন লোকটিকে নিয়ে এবং বলেন *" তোমরা(মেয়েরা) লোকটিকে ENCOURAGE করেছ"* । পরে আরও বলেন যে *"তোমাদের বুকের পাটা থাকলে লোকটাকে Face করো, আমি পারবো না। আমি তোমাদের ভেতরকার security দিতে পারবো, বাইরের নয়।*" আমাদের বার বার অভিযোগ এর সত্ত্বেও আমাদের victim blaming করতে থাকেন। এইরকম ঘটনার ভীতি, আশঙ্কা কে আরো ছোট করতে থাকেন। মেয়েরা না বাইরে safe, না নিজের হোস্টেলে-এ, নিজের অধিকারের জায়গায়, না নিজের চার দেয়াল এর মধ্যেও safe নয়।
ইতিমুহূর্তে পুলিশ চলে আসেন কিন্তু হোস্টেলের মেয়েদের সাথে কোনরকম কথা বলতে দেওয়া হয় না মেয়েদের চাওয়া সত্ত্বেও। We needed the help. And we were not allowed to take the help. নিরুপায় হয়ে আমরা পরের দিন সমস্ত ঘটনা জানাই আমাদের ডিন স্যারকে। আমাদের আশ্বস্ত করেন যে বিষয়টি খতিয়ে দেখবেন। কিন্তু তারপর-ই হোস্টেল সুপার আমাদের কাছে আসেন ও বিভিন্ন মেয়েদের ওপর নানা ধরনের মিথ্যে অভিযোগ করতে থাকেন ও বলতে থাকেন যে, "*Leave the hostel*।" অর্থাৎ সাহায্যের বদলেই আবারো Personal Attack এবং victim blaming। না কেনো আইনি সাহায্য, না কোনো সহযোগিতা, কেনো সাহায্য পাচ্ছি না আমরা? যতক্ষণ না বড়ো কিছু ঘটে যায় ততক্ষণ কলেজ Authority চুপ করে থাকবে!!!
আমরা Presidency College girls' hostel এর মেয়েরা সাহায্য চাই! নিস্তার চাই এই ঘটনা থেকে !!
আমরা চাই এই লোকটির বিরুদ্ধে যথাযথ পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হোক।
এইটাও চাই এই ঘটনার সাহায্য চাওয়ার পরিবর্তে ক্রমাগত Hostel Super দ্বারা এই Victim blaming বন্ধ হোক এবং সর্বোপরি এই ঘটনার কর্তৃপক্ষ দায়িত্ব নিক, লোকটি কে উপযুক্ত শাস্তি দেওয়ার জন্য সমস্ত-রকম তদণ্ড এবং আইনি ব্যাবস্থাই সর্বত ভাবে আমাদের সাহায্য করে পাশে থাকুক।

On the night of *11th November*, a man came to the park area in front of the first-year students’ rooms on the *fourth floor of the Presidency College Girls’ Hostel*. He switched on the lights, started *harassing the girls*, and later engaged in *obscene and inappropriate acts*, amounting to *sexual harassment*.
This is *not the first time*. Similar incidents have been happening in front of different rooms for many days. We have repeatedly informed our *Hostel Superintendent*, but even after that, the same incidents continued to happen again and again.
Out of fear, the first-year girls called their seniors, who arrived immediately. The girls informed the Hostel Superintendent right away and requested her several times to call the police. Only after repeated requests did she finally make the call.
The girls also requested the security guards to take a photo of the man's vehicle number plate, so that it could be given to the police. But the guards *refused to help* without the Superintendent’s permission.
Terrified, the girls called the Superintendent again and requested her to come outside, but she stayed inside her room and kept saying:
*“Why are you girls calling me so late at night?”*
She even made false accusations *against the girls*, saying:
*“You girls encouraged that man.”*
She later added:
*“If you have the guts, go and face that man. I cannot. I can give you security inside, not outside.”*
Instead of helping, she kept *victim-blaming* the girls and minimized their fear and suffering.
The girls do not feel safe — not outside, not in their own hostel, not even within their own four walls.
Meanwhile, The police came, but the girls were *
*not allowed to speak to them*, even though they wanted to.
We needed help. And we were not allowed to receive help.
The next day, we informed the entire incident to our *Dean*, who assured us that he would look into the matter. But soon after that, the Hostel Superintendent approached us and started putting *false allegations* on several girls, telling some of them to *“leave the hostel.”*
Instead of help, we again faced *personal attacks and victim-blaming*.
Why are we not receiving any legal support?
Why is there no cooperation?
Will the college authorities stay silent until something worse happens?
We, the girls of *Presidency College Girls’ Hostel*, are asking for *help*. We want *protection*f rom these incidents.
We demand that *strict action* be taken against the man involved.
We also demand that the *Hostel Superintendent stop victim-blaming* and that the authorities take full responsibility. We want them to ensure all necessary steps and legal measures are taken so that the man receives proper punishment — and that the girls get full support and safety.
