Ushering in the Golden Age of Kotah, HH Maharao Umed Singh Ji the second dedicated his reign to his people. He ruled for them, transforming administration, infrastructure and agriculture. A patron of the arts he understood the cultural fabric of his state and encouraged the flourishing of the arts in Kotah, commissioning miniatures and allowing the school of Kotah Kalam of paintings to thrive.
We take a moment today to celebrate the man who loved his state and country, sheltering freedom fighters and revolutionaries, hoping to one day having succeeded in the duty bestowed upon him.

About Umed Bhawan Palace Kotah
The Palace, originally built in 1902, was initially converted into a heritage hotel in 1995/96. It has since been renovated and restored by over 2023/24, and is now operating under the family’s direct supervision and management. Umed Bhawan Palace has 32 rooms, 1 restaurant, 1 bar, 2 indoor banquet halls, and 1 large outdoor banquet lawn.

About Umed Bhawan Palace Kotah 🏰
The Palace was built in 1902 by HH Maharao Umed Singh Ji II of Kotah, and then first converted into a heritage hotel in 1995. The Royal Family of Kotah has since renovated and restored the Palace in 2023/2024. Since re-opening the historic property, the Umed Bhawan Palace team is working to boost regional tourism and bring travellers from across the world to the Hadoti region.
