Celebrate International nutrition week with konkan special dish Patole... 🥳🥳

Ingredients for Patoli Recipe
1. Rice 1 cup
2. Turmeric leaves 16
3. Salt a pinch
4. Pure ghee as required
*For stuffing*
1.Jaggery (gur) grated 6 tablespoons
2.Coconut scraped 1 cup

Method
Step 1
Soak rice in three cups of water for two hours. Drain and grind into a thick paste using very little water. Add salt to taste.
Step 2
Take coconut in a pan and roast lightly. Add jaggery and cook for five to seven minutes. Set aside to cool.
Step 3
Heat water in a steamer. Apply ghee on the shining side of the turmeric leaves. Spread a little rice batter on each leaf. Put a spoonful of the coconut stuffing and fold the leaves sideways. Place them in the hot steamer and cover. Cook for ten to fifteen
Step 4
They can also be made in banana leaves. When done, peel off the leaves, dribble a little ghee and serve hot.

Celebrate International nutrition week with South Indian special dish Appe... 🥳🥳

Most of the dishes in south indian cuisine are very easy to digest.
There are two popular appe mainly made of either moong dal or rice that goes while preparing batter. moong dal appe is protein rich while rice appe is carbohydrate rich. Rice being rich in carbs, the rice version of appe provides magnesium, selenium, iron, folic acid, manganese, phosphorus, thiamine, niacin and omega 6 fatty acid.
Since urad is common for both version of appe it provides good portion of Iron, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, potassium and B group vitamins. It is high in fiber and less in cholestrol.
Appe is prepared in a special appe chatty and there is no substitute for this cooking chatty.
