There’s something special about a temple kulam.
Not just the water — but the feeling around it.

The stone steps warming under the sun.
The sound of splashes echoing across the tank.
Children sitting on the edge, dipping their feet before they finally jump in.

At Marutham, the swimming pool borrows a little from that familiar memory.

It isn’t just a pool meant for laps or lessons. The idea was simpler — to recreate the feeling of a theppakulam, the kind many of us grew up around. A place where water is not rushed, but enjoyed slowly.

In the picture, a little girl sits at the edge, happily kicking the water and sending playful splashes into the pool. She isn’t swimming yet. She’s doing what children naturally do around water — playing with it first.

And that’s exactly how temple tanks used to feel for many of us.

Before the big dive, there was always this moment.
Sitting on the steps.
Testing the water with your toes.
Watching the ripples spread.

Urban kids rarely get that experience now. Pools today are often structured — lanes, timings, instructions. But a kulam was always more relaxed. A little more playful.

So this space at Marutham brings back that memory.

Not as a grand temple tank, but as a small reminder.

A place where a child can sit at the edge, splash the water, and slowly become friends with it… just the way many of us once did.

There is something about the nights at Marutham that feels very different.

After the day settles down, the lights around the old-style verandah begin to glow.

The houses stands there calmly, its warm yellow lights falling softly on the walls, the pillars, and the little details around it.

A kayithu kattil rests in the courtyard, almost inviting you to sit for a while.

You sit down, lean back, and nostalgia hits.

The air feels cooler.

Somewhere in the background you hear leaves moving gently in the night breeze. The kolam on the ground catches the light, and the whole place starts to feel like a scene from an older time.

You don’t really feel the need to do anything.

Just sitting there for a few minutes becomes enough.

At Marutham, nights are not about activities or plans. They are about letting the day fade slowly, sitting under the warm lights of the house, and enjoying a moment that feels simple, familiar, and peaceful.

And before you realise it, that small moment becomes one of the memories you carry back home.

At Marutham, photoshoots are never just about pictures.

It usually starts simple. Someone picks a saree. Someone else adjusts the flowers. There’s a little laughter, a bit of “will this look good?” — and then slowly, something shifts.

Guests stop posing… and start enjoying.

They sit on the verandah like they’ve always belonged there. They smile without trying too hard. They get into the theme — not because they have to, but because it feels natural in that moment.

That’s what we love seeing.

When someone embraces the space, the culture, the little details around them — the photos turn into something more. They carry a mood. A feeling. A memory of how it actually felt to be there.

At Marutham, every corner has a story waiting.

And when guests step into it, even for a while, they don’t just take pictures back home.

They take a piece of that story with them. ✨

The Secret Behind Every Flavor at Marutham 🌿

At Marutham Village Resort, every meal is more than just food — it’s an experience of care and authenticity. One of the things that makes our dishes truly special is the way we prepare our spices.

All the spices used in our restaurant are sun-dried and freshly ground right here at Marutham. This age-old method not only brings out rich flavors but also ensures that what you eat is gentle on the stomach, making it safe and healthy for all age groups.

From the warmth of a curry to the aroma of chutneys, every bite carries the goodness of nature and the love of tradition. Guests often tell us that our food feels light, comforting, and full of taste — just like a wholesome home-cooked meal.

At Marutham, we believe that freshness is the key to wellness, and that’s why we keep it simple, natural, and pure.
