There is something about the nights at Marutham that feels very different.
After the day settles down, the lights around the old-style verandah begin to glow.
The houses stands there calmly, its warm yellow lights falling softly on the walls, the pillars, and the little details around it.
A kayithu kattil rests in the courtyard, almost inviting you to sit for a while.
You sit down, lean back, and nostalgia hits.
The air feels cooler.
Somewhere in the background you hear leaves moving gently in the night breeze. The kolam on the ground catches the light, and the whole place starts to feel like a scene from an older time.
You don’t really feel the need to do anything.
Just sitting there for a few minutes becomes enough.
At Marutham, nights are not about activities or plans. They are about letting the day fade slowly, sitting under the warm lights of the house, and enjoying a moment that feels simple, familiar, and peaceful.
And before you realise it, that small moment becomes one of the memories you carry back home.
