Our story
Our story starts a long time ago.. a few years before Day2Day Camping was formally formed.. may be even a few more years before that! It was when our Chief Camper, Manmohan (Manu) was born! He was a notorious little boy who was famous amongst all for his mischief but loved by all for his inner warmth and care. As Manu grew, there is nothing he liked more than nature, greenery and mountains. His work made him travel to places. His passion became driving and driving became a necessity for the nature of work he was doing in the corporate world. Manu used to enjoy meeting new people, learning their life stories and connecting with them. Soon it was apparent that he would no longer continue his journey in the corporate world but quit all this to do what he liked most! which is being close to nature and people! This is when Manu formed Day2Day Camping.
This was no easy decision! it was infact a huge step! but when your destiny is to enjoy the breath taking views of Barot everyday, meet a great bunch of people and camp around, then who can stop you haha..
Day2Day Camping is proud of the personal touch and care that we provide for our guests - our core value.
You having a great time with Day2Day Camping is our greatest goal.
Our ask
We ask all our guests to be respectful towards other guests and our staff. Please do not behave in a manner which can be disturbing for other guests around you. It's important for us to maintain a friendly and relaxing ambience at our Camps and we would love you to help us with this.
Please act responsibly, donβt litter, be safe and above all enjoy your stay very much!
About Barot

It is situated 40 km from Jogindernagar and 66 km from Mandi, the district headquarters. The road to Barot branches off at Jogindernagar-Mandi high ways and from Jogindernagar the distance is 40 km. It is sometimes possible to use the funicular trolley from Jogindernagar which reduces the distance to 12 km. The road route includes terraced fields and thick cedar forests, rising to Jhatingri at the hilltop. The remains of the summer palace of the former rulers of Mandi are located here.Through the little village of Tikkan, the road carries on to Barot. The town has a range of outdoor activities, including a trout breeding centre from where fish are released into the Uhl. A 30 km section of the river is used for angling.
Barot also forms the gateway to the Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary which lies across the Uhl. The sanctuary is home to the monal, black bear and ghoral. Within it are forest rest house s at Thaltuckhod and Silbandhwari. Through woods of cedar and pine a trek route cuts across the sanctuary to Kullu.
Barot is situated 25 km off National Highway 20. The diversion to Barot is at a village, Ghatasani, on the Mandi-Jogidernagar road, 14 km from Joginder Nagar and 35 km from Mandi. This Ghatasni-Barot road passes through Jhatingri and Tikkan. From Tikkan, the road runs along the Uhl river till Barot. A major portion of this road is single lane, though not one way.
Barot is connected by public buses to Mandi, Jogindernagar and Palampur. Buses plying to Kothikodh, Bada Gran and Luhardi also pass through Barot.
