There was much fanfare around the Digdola Male, a dominant male in Kanha’s Kisli zone, who seemed destined to become one of the park’s legendary tigers. Just weeks after being sighted mating with the Ghangar Female, he was found dead, allegedly killed in a territorial battle with his father, Z1 🐅

In late April, shortly before his death, our guest Rupal Patel | Photography was fortunate enough to spend some undisturbed moments with him — a fleeting encounter that soon took on a poignant significance.

A stark reminder of what the circle of life looks like in the wild.
