About Mahua Bari
You will be welcomed into Mahua Bari, a Heritage Home of the Chaudhuri Family, tastefully decorated by 2 artists, the mother and the daughter. There are paintings and local artifacts that makes this home uniquely beautiful.
The house is 2 storied with 2 huge guest rooms on the first floor. There are 2 bathrooms, each with with a sink, western toilet, and shower, and running hot and cold water - one upstairs and one downstairs. There is a single occupancy small guest room on the ground floor for budget travelers and drivers/helpers of the guests.
The kitchen with all modern amenities, includes a gas stove, water filter, microwave and refrigerator. Even though we have a chef to cook all your meals, you can use the gadgets if/when necessary.
The activity room / dining room is at the front of the house on the ground floor. A big door size window allows you to soak in the sun and take in the village scene outside while sitting in the privacy of the house sipping tea, reading, writing, playing games. The dining table, apart from breakfast, lunch and dinner time, serves as the space for myriad activities.
Steps in the front and back of the house are great places to enjoy the sun, have conversations with fellow travelers and village people. The seats by the pond, next to Mahua Bari often serves as the outdoor lounge area where food and drinks can be served on request.
