Kondana Caves – A total of 16 rock-cut Buddhist caves dating back to 1st century BC in the Kondana Village with some amazing history, carvings, inscriptions, stupas, sculptures that give us insight into the ancient Buddhist architecture. Not to miss waterfall enroute

Rajmachi Fort – This is one of the many historical forts in the rugged hills of Sahydri mountain. Rajmachi Fort (Killa) consists of two twin fortresses Shriwardhan Ballekilla and Manaranjan Balekilla, with a wide Machi (plateau) surrounding the two Balekillas. Udhewadi is a small village of about 22 houses stuated on the Machi (plateau), at the southern foot of Manaranjan Balekilla of Rajmachi Fort.

There are 2 routes to reach Rajmachi Fort – via Karjat & via Lonavla both of which are scenic during rainy season turns in a Nature’s paradise with water streams, several waterfalls springing up, clouds covered skies, green landscapes across & to top it up the Monsoon showers…. *Its rainy season...and we’re going to Bhandardara on Sunday, 2nd July*
For all those who don’t know about Bhandardara...its heaven for people who love rains, waterfalls and mountains...about 160 kms from Mumbai.
Here’s the plan...we leave Borivali National Park junction at 6am sharp...enjoying the beautiful scenic view, singing songs and chitchatting with friends we drive towards Bhandardara. On the way we stop for breakfast at a restaurant on NH160.
We should reach Bhandardara by 12 kinds.
We’ll spend the day visiting Arthur lake, Randha waterfalls and a couple of other scenic spots in the region.
Ofcourse we’ll enjoy the local food during lunch and evening tea.
After soaking our selves sufficiently in the rain, in friendship, and in the fun, we start our journey back around 7.30pm.
