With a news floating that all the hills are filled to the tip, a general sense of panic and uncertainty can be seen amongst the tourists. The impact of this news has caused a concerning downtrend in the tourist footfall this week.
In simple words, ' Mussoorie is empty '. The jams that the media is reporting are due to private busses, irresponsible driving by certain individuals and the lack of parking (Which has been an issue for the past few years now).
Mussoorie Mall Road has two entry points (Picture Palace and Library Bazaar), to avoid jams, tourists should prefer the Picture Palace route(As there are less private busses and taxis on this route). People can also take the Barlowganj route to avoid the jam at Jheel. To tackle the parking woes tourists should plan their journey in such a way that they reach Mussoorie before 4 p.m. ( Entry of vehicles on Mall Road is restricted from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.).
We advice you to pre book your hotel and plan your journey accordingly. Take a respite from the heat and enjoy your stay in Mussoorie. 😄
