Hornbill at Kissing trees' seems to be in distress!
Can anyone tell me why?
We have had hornbills nesting and young ones being taught to fly every year from 2018, after our pond was built.
Now, instead on the happy cries of them as they flew around just below the coconut palms, I am hearing these cries and I am concerned.

A proud moment at Kissing trees!
Some of our coconuts are a kilo each!! And most of them are more than 900 gms!!
Being an Organic farmer and constantly learning about increasing the yield and size of our coconuts is yielding results!!
I have learnt so much from Karnataka coconut board research and Tiptur ( a village known for centuries of coconut farming) method of planting coconuts .
Thankful and enjoying the bounty of not just coconuts but all the various fruits of our farm and to think that I knew nothing of farming a few years ago!

Many of my friends think that being on a farm and running a homestay and being away from family and friends is kind of boring and lacking in excitement.
But, it really is just the opposite! Cooking and meeting people and talking are what I enjoy the most! And right here, I get to do all these with very interesting guests! And to top it all, we exchange recipes! It's a constant learning for me without having to go to any Master class!!
So thanks to Anu Mahadev, I learnt an akki roti recipe which is very healthy. It has Moringa leaves and carrots and it's delicious! Something I had never heard about! And thanks to Savithri Bhat, I learnt the jackfruit dosa! Truly amazing!
The other picture is of jackfruit halwa, Chakka Varatti which is also delicious! Heard about it from my cousin Maya.
It's never a dull day at "Kissing trees"!!

After almost 18 hours of rain, the Sun comes shining out and I venture out with Jeeves and Sweety to see how happy my trees are looking especially the fruiting ones. The pictures are of avocados, jackfruits, bananas, Jamuns, Passion fruits and mulberries.
After enjoying an abundance of mangoes, we have already started enjoying some of these! Couldn't get a proper picture of Jamuns but they are almost ready.
Our mulberries too are so sweet that I enjoy making muffins and pancakes with them.
Whenever I walk around our farm, I am so overwhelmed that God has so graciously blessed us with our own farm! It cannot get better than this!
Enjoying these fruits and making jams, juices, squashes and wines, I feel as if this is my calling!
Nature in all it's exquisite beauty is so therapeutic and I absolutely love it with Jeeves wandering around examining everything!!

Happiness is listening to the sound of water flowing and trickling down on the pebbles with Jeeves checking all around our beautiful pond. The water lilies and the colourful fish add to the charm of this idyllic spot.
