It was a wonderful conversation with Switzerland Ambassador to India & Bhutan - HE Maya Tissafi.

Honoured to share two books that have charted my Himalayan journeys — Tales of Young Gandhi, a Gandhi graphic novel, and Nainital: Memories, Stories & History, a tribute to the layered stories and heritage of my Himalayan home.

Our conversation was a beautiful reminder that mountains are more than landscapes; they are living cultural threads that connect communities and countries. I look forward to building bridges between the Alps and the Himalayas through literature, art and storytelling.

Built by a British ICS officer in 1876, Abbotsford () is a cosy mountain home in Nainital, named after Sir Walter Scott’s famous estate in Scotland. Janhavi Prasada ( , who owns and runs the estate today, is the fourth generation of her family to live here, and in many ways, the reason the house is still a living piece of heritage. In the late 2000s, Janhavi’s mother restored the property, and in 2014, the property opened as a small heritage homestay with only a handful of rooms, and the intention of keeping it alive as a family home.
