Sunsets are a bit of a distraction around here. Whatever you’re doing, you tend to stop and look.

The clouds catch the last of the light, the hills turn dark and the sky keeps changing colour until the sun disappears.

We’ve taken more photographs of sunsets than we can count, and somehow we keep taking more.

Good Indian food starts with good ingredients.

At The Orchard, our herbs come from the garden, our spices are prepared in-house, and we source locally for what we don’t grow ourselves.

Being surrounded by one of North India’s rich fruit and vegetable-growing regions means there’s always plenty of fresh, seasonal produce to work with.

Whether it’s a Kumaoni thali or a North Indian favourite, we keep it simple. Good ingredients, good cooking and plenty of flavour.

These walks are a lovely way to spend a few hours outdoors, take in the mountain air and see a little more of Peora on foot.

Evenings feel a little different here after the sun goes down.

The valley gets darker and the lights across the hills begin to come on.

It’s a lovely time to sit outside, gather around, talk, and watch the lights of the villages come on across the valley.
