After bright big and delicious avocadoes, juicy wax apples, soothing custard apples, succulent and sweet jackfruits here comes the SOURSOP. This prickly green fruit has a creamy texture and a strong flavor that is often compared to pineapple or strawberry. Hanuman phal/hannu is what is called in hindi/kannada. Farm produce of November 2020. Two soursop trees stand firmly in-front of the glorious now very tall palms. The health benefits of soursop are widely documented, with high anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals. A fruit native to the tropical regions, now grace our humble farmhouse.

Stumbled upon this amazing bit of information about Nandi Hills while reading Pranay Lal's Indica... "People who reach the top of the Nandi Hills pay little attention to the ground on which they tread.But do take a moment and look at this grey rock that glistens darkly in the rain because this is no ordinary rock.Belonging to a family of rocks called the Dharwar Craton that was formed about 3.5 billion years ago,it is amongst the oldest rocks in India and is literally a part of the very bedrock on which the country stands!.." Only Australia, Greenland and South Africa have rocks that are older than those found here"

Monsoon 2019. Salubrious weather. It's time for the sweet earthy smell. For the tiny droplets on window panes. For the thundering sound of rain. The power to add beauty to nature. If you are thrilled with the gorgeous season you will truly understand the misty cloud, green surrounding and the ever changing view of the hills behind the clouds.

When friends from school decide it's time to meet, there is nothing stopping them. Alternate arrangements made for home, hearth and a million other responsibilities they shoulder. For that one day they are being themselves, school girls on an excursion. Even if now they have much more to talk about, and they can, without any masks or pretence. These are the people who knew you when you were little and know you now with the wrinkles, the successes and failures that life has to offer. After weeks of planning and anticipation, the D day arrives. The excitement knows no bounds and chatter no limits. And the laughter, well, you laugh so hard that the jaws hurt and eyes well up. Very soon It's time to go home. But, they promise to be back. For now each one of them rejuvenated to face lifes challenges as they arrive!
