‘Aagri Mejwani’ is out to prove a point with the authentic taste of Aagri food, as there are very few places where you get authentic Aagri cusine. ‘Aagri Mejwani’ is located idyllically at Devki Sadan, Sector 1, Shiravane Nerul, Navi Mumbai, where there is still a strong Aagri presence. Aagris, the sons of the soil, trace their origins back to the original 26 villages of Mumbai.

as started on June 2015 by Dilesh Patil as he always aspired to get the taste of Aagri food to people who clamour for the more popular Chinese, Mughlai, Malvani etc.

“Within a year of conception, we've already got a great response and acceptability. Though most office-goers enjoy this cuisine, some of them have asked us to go easy on the spice as their pallette is unused to it. Though as of now, in terms of place we are small, but soon Aagri Mejwani will be three times larger" says Dliesh. Most dishes are seafood, chicken or mutton, while the gravy is a watery broth, it is dense in taste and flavour. Though Aagris food habits are similar to the Kolis, unlike Kolis and Malvanis, the Aagris roast coconut for the curry and do not use coconut milk. The menu includes the scrumptious Paya, Mundi, Ravas, Kolambi & Mandeli Masala Fry. Do ask the friendly staff for recommendations of the various fish on offer. For the uninitiated, the Thali is a safe meal to get to know the taste of Aagri food. The Kolambi Soda Masala fry is also a hot favourite. So go ahead - treat your taste buds to some real Aagri taste!
