Built in 1971, this cozy, well-equipped house in the hillstation town of Ootacamund (Ooty) in Tamil Nadu (South India) is named after the owner's family name - Kanjiraparamban. Kanjira is a native drum made of wood and lizard skin but also is the Malayalam name of the poison-nut or snakewood tree. Parambu refers to compound or garden space surrounding a house. In all probability, the owners ancestors lived in a house in Kerala that had a garden with kanjira trees in it!
Ideal for families traveling together. Fully Furnished house. Can be rented as individual portions as well. One Portion has 3 bed rooms including 2 wooden floored attic rooms, fully equipped kitchen, dining room/hall, two bathrooms, two sitting rooms with pull out sofas and a TV with cable connection.
Fully functional wood fired fireplace.
Second Portion has one bedroom, one hall with sofa/bed, one bathroom, one wood fired fireplace.
Bed linen, towels, crockery, barbecue grill, room heaters available on site. Housekeeping and cooking service also available.
Pick up from Mettupalayam Station, Coimbatore Airport and local sightseeing in and around Ooty can be arranged.
