While the world celebrates new year in dreary winters, our culture kickstarts the year in bright & sunkissed summers. The harvest season marks the beginning of a new year that known by many names - Puthandu ( TN), Bihu (Assam), Pana Sankranti (Odisha), Poila boisakh (WB) and Vishu in God's own country..

But more than just being an arbitrary starting point for a year, these pan-cultural celebrations, closely associated with new harvest, point to something more than just a date on the calendar.

Each celebration is a signal to renewal and rejuvenation in itself. It's a day to pause and reflect. To introspect and revere. And to pay homage to the very earth that reaps bounty for us.

A sense of gratitude & excitement of entering a new year is felt across the nation as celebrations & joy ripples through this beautiful ocean that connects us all.

Wishing you all a very happy Vishu!

World Tourism Day 2025 feels extra special this year.

Moksha Stories has been honoured with the Silver Award at the Outlook Traveller Responsible Tourism Awards 2025.

This national recognition is more than an achievement—it is a tribute to the farmers, artisans, storytellers, and women leaders who trusted us and brought their heritage into the journeys we design. Their resilience and creativity are the true heartbeat of Moksha Stories.

We believe tourism must go beyond sightseeing—it should be responsibly designed, community-led, and deeply rooted in culture. Every experience we craft celebrates tradition, creates dignity-driven livelihoods, and shows how travel can transform both people and places.

On this World Tourism Day, we dedicate this award to the communities who believed in us and stood with us through every step. And a warm congratulations to our friends at , .tours, .co.in , .in and all other winners for their recognitions—we’re proud to walk this path of responsible tourism together.

Thank you, Sumitra Nair, for your brilliant article in Open Magazine, "Walking with Gods and Queens: The Kerala Story Through Heritage Tours." It’s an honor to be featured alongside such passionate heritage storytellers as Muhammed Shihad of Kannur City Heritage Foundation, Rajeesh Raghavan of Hearitage stories, Kozhikode, Johann Binny Kuruvilla of and Balagopal varma Kochi Thrippunithura heritage walks.

Sumitra, your work beautifully captures the essence of our shared mission: preserving and celebrating the rich local heritage through storytelling. Your article highlights how local heritage is more than just history—it’s a living narrative, interwoven with community, sustainability, and culture.

To my fellow storytellers, this journey has only just begun! Together, we are building something truly meaningful, and our bond grows stronger with each story told. Here’s to continuing our work in heritage preservation and creating meaningful, immersive experiences for all.

We have a long way to go, and I’m excited for all that’s ahead as we work towards our shared goals. More power to us!
