Preparing for smearing and plastering floors & walls with cow dung, soil, sand and pine leaves. Cow dung acts as a natural insect repellent, and is believed to have antifungal and antiseptic properties as well. It also has excellent insulation properties: floors and walls coated with cow dung tend to remain warm in winters and cold in summers.

Opening Shortly our double storeyed mud houses at Sarajra, 9 kms from Baijnath, having grey slate roofs, is a pleasant sight and an instant eye-catcher for all passerby. But the hardwork and the making of Mud House is a huge story by itself. 6 layers of Mud on 2.5 feet wide stone walls took us over 12 months of rigorous labour.

Suresh Bhai is a land owner at our Sarajara village and good friend. We are so lucky to have the option of goat milk along with cow milk at Dhauladhar Mud House.. These cattle graze daily at flora rich Dhauladhar mountain.
