பரமக்குடி (ஆங்கிலம்:Paramakudi), இந்தியாவின் தமிழ்நாடு மாநிலத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டத்தில்இருக்கும் ஒரு நகராட்சி ஆகும்.இது வைகை நதியின் கரையில் அமைந்திருக்கிரது. மதுரை ராமேஸ்வரம் தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலை எண் 49 இன் மத்தியில் உள்ளது.
மக்கள் வகைப்பாடு[தொகு]
இந்திய 2011 மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பின்படி 103776 மக்கள் இங்கு வசிக்கின்றார்கள். இவர்களில் 52704 ஆண்கள், 51072 பெண்கள் ஆவார்கள். பரமக்குட
ி மக்களின் சராசரி கல்வியறிவு 82% ஆகும், இதில் ஆண்களின் கல்வியறிவு 86%, பெண்களின் கல்வியறிவு 78% ஆகும். இது இந்திய தேசிய சராசரி கல்வியறிவான 59.5% விட கூடியதே. பரமக்குடி மக்கள் தொகையில் 9% ஆறு வயதுக்குட்பட்டோர் ஆவார்கள்.

பரமக்குடி நகரானது ரயில் மற்றும் பேருந்து வசதிகளின் மூலம் மற்ற ஊர்களுடன் இணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இங்கிருந்து சென்னை, ராமேஸ்வரம்,மதுரை,கன்னியாகுமரி,கோவை,திருப்பதி,ஒக்ஹா, புவனேஸ்வர் ,வாரனாசி உள்ளிட்ட நகரங்களுக்கு நேரடி ரயில் வசதி உள்ளது. இங்கிருந்து பெரும்பாலான ஊர்களுக்கு அரசு மற்றும் தனியார் பேருந்து வசதிகள் உள்ளன.அருகில் உள்ள விமான நிலையம் மதுரை ஆகும். இது பரமக்குடி இல் இருந்து 83கி மீ தொலைவில் உள்ளது.

As of 2001 India census Paramakudi had a population of 82,239. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Paramakudi has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: Male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 68%. In Paramakudi, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. It is the highest populated town in the district and second largest town in the district of Ramanathapuram. The nearest towns include Ilaiyangudi, Ramanathapuram, and Sivagangai. The town is at the junction of three districts: Ramnathapuram, Sivagangai and Virudunagar. Historically the area was ruled by the Pandyan Dynasty this is not the head quarters of any king but was ruled by Pandiyas and later by the King Sethupathi of Ramanathapuram. According to the ancient epic Ramayana, Lord Rama started his battle against Ravana at Sethu Canal, which is 45 minutes travel from here. Paramakudi consists of two formerly separate settlements, Paramakudi and Emaneswaran, which merged to form the present municipal town in 1964. Temples and churches
Paramakudi's famous temples are Perumal Temple (which hosts a Chitra festival), Meenakshi Amman Temple and Muthalamman Temple. Other temples include Varadharaja Perumaal (Emaneswaram), Sri Hanuman, Eswaran, Subramaniya Swami, Draupadi Amman, Panchamuga Anjaneyar, Machadi Karruppan, Siddhi Vinayagar and Murugan, and Sathuraga Nayaki Amman. Alangara Matha's Church, Tamil Evangelical Lutheran Church (TELC), Church of South India (CSI), Christian Believers Assembly (Brethren), Apostalic Fellowship Tabernacle (AFT) Church, Assemblies of God, Pentecostal Mission, Maranatha Church, Fr. Berkman’s Church, Roman Catholic Church are some of the other local churches. Paramakudi also has seven mosques, including one near the city centre, which features a minaret about 120 feet tall. In the town, there is one arts college run by the government, which offers an MBA program, and two evening colleges (Madurai Kamaraj and Alagappa) in nearby Karaikudi. Sri Muthalamman Polytechnic College offers diploma courses. For higher studies, the students are supposed to go to other towns and districts. Two government schools and four aided schools offer secondary and higher secondary education. The engineering college is Ganapathy Chettiar College of Engineering.
