Surah Al-Kahf (18:6–15)
6.
فَلَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ إِن لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَسَفًۭا
Transliteration: Fala‘allaka bāakhi‘un nafsaka ‘alā āthārihim in lam yu’minū bihādhā al-ḥadīthi asafā
Translation: Perhaps you would kill yourself in grief over them, [O Muhammad], if they do not believe in this message.

7.
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا مَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ زِينَةًۭ لَّهَا لِنَبْلُوَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًۭا
Transliteration: Innâ ja‘alnâ mā ‘alal-arḍi zīnatal-lahā linabluwahum ayyuhum aḥsanu ‘amalā
Translation: Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it, in order to test them [as to] which of them is best in deed.

8.
وَإِنَّا لَجَٰعِلُونَ مَا عَلَيْهَا صَعِيدًۭا جُرُزًۭا
Transliteration: Wa innā la jā‘ilūna mā ‘alayhā ṣa‘īdan juruzā
Translation: And indeed, We will make that which is upon it [into] a barren ground.

9.
أَمْ حَسِبْتَ أَنَّ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْكَهْفِ وَٱلرَّقِيمِ كَانُوا۟ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا عَجَبًۭا
Transliteration: Am ḥasibta anna aṣḥābal-kahfi war-raqīmi kānū min āyātinā ‘ajabā
Translation: Or have you thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were, among Our signs, a wonder?

10.
إِذْ أَوَى ٱلْفِتْيَةُ إِلَى ٱلْكَهْفِ فَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةًۭ وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًۭا
Transliteration: Idh awā al-fit’yatu ilal-kahfi faqālū rabbanā ātinā min ladunka raḥmatan wa hayyi’ lanā min amrinā rashadā
Translation: [Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, “Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.”

11.
فَضَرَبْنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ فِى ٱلْكَهْفِ سِنِينَ عَدَدًۭا
Transliteration: Fa ḍarabnā ‘alā ādhānihim fil-kahfi sinīna ‘adadā
Translation: So We cast [a cover of sleep] over their ears within the cave for a number of years.

12.
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَٰهُمْ لِنَعْلَمَ أَىُّ ٱلْحِزْبَيْنِ أَحْصَىٰ لِمَا لَبِثُوٓا۟ أَمَدًۭا
Transliteration: Thumma ba‘athnāhum li-na‘lama ayyul-ḥizbayni aḥṣā limā labithū amadā
Translation: Then We awakened them that We might show which of the two parties was most precise in calculating what [extent] they had remained [in time].

13.
نَّحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ نَبَأَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ فِتْيَةٌ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ وَزِدْنَٰهُمْ هُدًۭى
Transliteration: Naḥnu naquṣṣu ‘alayka naba’ahum bil-ḥaqq; innahum fit’yatun āmanū birabbihim wa zid’nāhum hudā
Translation: We relate to you their story in truth. Indeed, they were youths who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance.

14.
وَرَبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ إِذْ قَامُوا۟ فَقَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَن نَّدْعُوَا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِلَٰهًۭا ۖ لَّقَدْ قُلْنَآ إِذًۭا شَطَطًا
Transliteration: Wa rabaṭnā ‘alā qulūbihim idh qāmū faqālū rabbu-nā rabbu-s-samāwāti wal-arḍ; lan nad‘uwa min dūnihi ilāhan; laqad qul’nā idhan shaṭaṭā
Translation: And We made firm their hearts when they stood up and said, “Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. Never will we invoke besides Him any deity. We would have certainly spoken, then, an excessive transgression.”

15.
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمُنَا ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةًۭ ۖ لَّوْلَا يَأْتُونَ عَلَيْهِم بِسُلْطَٰنٍۢ بَيِّنٍۢ ۖ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا
Transliteration: Hā’ulā’i qawmuna-ttakhadhū min dūnihi ālihatan; law lā ya’tūna ‘alayhim bisulṭānin bayyin; faman aẓlamu mimman iftarā ‘alallāhi kadhabā
Translation: These, our people, have taken besides Him deities. Why do they not bring for [worship of] them a clear authority? And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie?
