I bought a new MacBook Pro yesterday for around ₹1.70 lakh, which includes ₹27K in GST paid to the government.

To earn ₹1.70 lakh in India, if you're in the 30% tax bracket, you'd need to earn approximately ₹2.42 lakh. After paying ₹72K in income tax, you'd receive ₹1.70 lakh in your bank account.

So, for a ₹1.70 lakh MacBook Pro, I ended up paying ₹72K + ₹27K =
₹99,000 (approximately ₹1 lakh) in taxes to the lazy government. 🙂

A sad reality for middle-class earning individuals. 🥲🚨
