“Kaizun means A Thousand Welcome ( They live up to the expectation they've set)”
When all the well known hotels and B&B's were fully occupied I turned to Tripadvisor and frantically searched for a place that didn't look like a fleabag motel. When I saw the pictures I knew this B&B would live up to my expectations. I met the owners Dr Molly and Dr Sam shortly. As I gaze around this immaculate and tastefully decorated B&B I noticed a lot of thought has gone not only into the planning but also the decorating. It's as if every item has been hand picked. During my stay I noticed the potted plants were changed regularly. The wooden floors and marble stairs gleam. I once noticed Kong (housekeeper) wiping dust off the leaves of indoor plants. That level of attention to detail is commendable.
When I get home late, the staff will delay breakfast and allow me to sleep in. If I don't finish my breakfast Dr Molly will enquire if I'd like something else for breakfast. Needless to say I took the time to eat my breakfast. When I was down with fever Dr Molly offered her services as a doctor. Dr Sam is always up for a good chat. Krishna and Shai always ready to serve. Kong forever ironing the bed sheets (I adore her). Q (receptionist) holding the fort. Kong Meba the inspector, keeps everyone in line.
Dr Sam once told me "Kaizun" means a thousand welcome. The owners and the staff lived up to the expectation they've set. They truly left no stone unturned in making this guest feel welcomed and pampered. Kaizun is my home away from home. Can't wait to go back. My secret hideout will no longer be a secret. I hope there'll still be room for me Dr Molly.
I scouted hotels and B&B in and around Shillong and there is only one other hotel in Shillong that comes close to Kaizun in terms of facilities and service. But Kaizun offers competitive rates and is centrally located. A short walk or a short ride to Police Bazaar and Laitumkhrah.
This is my honest review with an aim to see local businesses succeed whilst aiding tourists/visitors find a safe, clean and comfortable accommodation for a peaceful nights rest.
