The spirit of Christmas filled the halls of Youth Hostel Shillong on 25th December 2025, as inmates, staff, and guests came together to celebrate a day of joy, sharing, and togetherness.
A special highlight of the day was the sharing of Christmas greetings and fellowship among residents from different backgrounds, truly embodying the spirit of unity and harmony. Simple celebrations, smiles, and shared moments made the day memorable for all.
The Christmas celebration at Youth Hostel Shillong once again reminded us that the hostel is not just a place to stay, but a place where bonds are built and festivals are celebrated like family.

I am truly overjoyed and immensely proud to share the remarkable achievement of Youth Hostel Shillong in obtaining the ISO 9001:2015 Certification. This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to quality, service excellence, and continual improvement. It is not just an accreditation, but a moment of great honour for the entire Youth Hostel fraternity.

On this joyous occasion, I extend my deepest gratitude to Shri Rajesh Kanaujia, Under Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, for his constant guidance, valuable support, and encouragement throughout this journey. His timely directions and cooperation have been instrumental in helping us reach this significant benchmark.

I also express my sincere thanks to Smt. Isawanda Laloo, Secretary, Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Meghalaya and Chairperson, Hostel Management Committee, for her steadfast support, visionary leadership, and continuous motivation.
