It was a journey of unity, leadership, and heritage, where the mighty kingdoms became one.

Long before it found its way into travel itineraries and guidebooks, Udaipur was simply a valley quietly held by the ancient Aravalli Hills, a landscape where water and forest seemed to exist in perfect conversation.

When British travellers moved through Mewar long ago, the sight before them felt almost unreal. In their writings, they described a valley that appeared complete within itself. Palaces rising from the lake, islands drifting like small worlds of their own, and wooded retreats resting quietly along the water’s edge. To them, it felt like one of the most romantic landscapes in all of India.

Nearly two centuries have passed since those words were written. The city has grown, travellers have arrived from distant places, and stories have continued to unfold along its ghats, hills, and winding streets.
