Rescue Operation @ Kuflon Basics.
This morning, a Brown Fish Owl was discovered under an electric pole on the property, having sustained an injury to one leg, most likely caused by an electrical wire. The bird was dazed, scared and disoriented.
We got her inside our home, provided initial care and administered first aid with the assistance of a friend in Dehradun over the phone.
We then notified the DFO and established communication with a local non-profit organization focused on animal welfare.
In the meantime we gave a few chunks of soggy soy to the beautiful bird.
Rahul and Prakash from the Lahit Organisation (they are doing fantastic work in Uttarkashi) arrived and transported the bird to the District Animal hospital, where it will receive treatment and subsequently release into the wild.
