Built on hillocks over 80 years ago,these were once residences of senior British planters,who far from home,partly overcame their loneliness by surrounding

themselves with finest things in life.This even included what they had to see each day.So it is but reasonable to expect that the views from here are nothing short of panoramic.Verdant carpets of tea clothe the hill sided and descend gently to the valleys,interspersed here and there by sparkling brooks.Misty hill tops and majestic trees complete the picture. Very little has changed since then except that now you don't have to be a "burra saheb" to enjoy the privileges that come with staying at these living heritage bungalows. Large verandahs,high ceilings,sprawling bedrooms,exclusive dining rooms,period furniture,manicured gardens....

Trampling through this lush scenery,you are never far from members of the animal kingdom.Discover birds you never knew existed,see the Indian Gaur and Sloth Bears,get a glimpse of the majestic Sambar stag browsing,see the timid barking deer dash into the undergrowth....and,and,if you are lucky,you could even spot the spotted cat..that's right,the LEOPARD! the hills at dusk
light weaving through our bungalows,
tuskers bonding in the heat of day,
tea bushes breathing in careful rows,
rainbows appearing unannounced,
cats with the best plans,
flowers nodding in bloom

The greater gift was to share it,
to witness it together with our dear guests-
present, curious,
leaning into slow living,
and noticing the subtle synchronicities
