Dear Anonymous sender,
Thank you for your heavily adulterated and spiced up story. We at Globe hotel would like to respond to you and the community at large about the actual incident that occurred on that fateful day.
Let me begin with an apology once again to you and your family, like it has been conveyed to you on numerous occasions earlier.
Unlike your twisted tale of lies, I would now like to tell everyone in detail about the incident that occurred and what followed.
A part of the ceiling which was a thin layer of cement (and definitely not the entire slab) collapsed on the table where you were seated to have a complimentary lunch (as rightly pointed out by you that Khushru is a friend of mine and never has he been charged for the multiple times he has been to our hotel). Unfortunately due to this there were injuries caused to your uncle and aunt and very minor negligible scratches on a third member. Immediate first aid assistance was given to your family and my dad offered to take all those injured to the nearest hospital which was declined by your family saying, and I quote "we don't think this requires any urgent medical attention and it's not your fault this happened. We would just like to go home".
After your departure, I have been in constant touch with the family of the injured and have been checking up on them till date on their status of health.
We have also given them medical expenses amounting to ₹-38,000/- so far, just in good faith, without receiving a single copy of bill or receipt from any doctor or medical facility.
Lately, there was a message sent to us, asking ₹-50,000 more towards their expenses to which we had requested them for some time as my brother was admitted in the hospital and was in critical condition.
As far as the maintenance of the hotel is concerned, it has been done on a regular basis and repairs to the current damaged structure are underway.I have not once spoken to you, nor told anyone anything about repairs being due at the Hotel.
Globe Hotel, has never just focused making profits or earning money. It has been a legacy for the family, serving every class of the Parsi/Irani community. We are staunch believers in the tenants of our religion and our policy has always been the greater good of the community. The Paak Pundole adaran for which the entire land was donated by our family stands as a testament to it. So it would be unwise to teach us the values of help and compassion when you and your family have forgotten the crux of our religion which is TRUTH.
We have kept in constant touch with your family, supported them financially, as it is our solemn duty to do so but we will not bow to false messages spread to defame us.
I do not know why you would send such nasty WhatsApp messages even after agreeing to pay up the sum of money demanded by you.
There is a lot of fabrication going on here and to summarise it up I would say this...
1. YES, the slab fell down
2. NO, we didn't try to hide or cover up anything.
3. YES, it is a tragedy.
4. YES, elderly people got injured.
5.YES, we are mortified and commencing repairs as soon as we can
6. NO, we didn't abandon anyone. In fact we tried to take them to hospital but they wanted to leave.
7. YES, We paid for medical expenses.
8. YES, we are in touch with aunty and uncle ( they are stable/recovering and stay in Andheri)
Whichever person wants to contact me directly please do. Do not make a tragedy into a drama because of boredom.
Yours Sincerely,
Rayomand Sidhwa,
On behalf of the Sidhwa family,
Globe Hotel, Udvada.
