The Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) is a stunning raptor and a very common sight in the state of Kerala, India.

Adults are easily recognizable, but juveniles may be confused with another very common raptor there : the Black Kite (Milvus migrans). Juvenile Brahminy Kites have a paler appearance.

If in flight, you can notice their rounded tail and shorter wings.

These magnificiant birds can been flying at eye level as you laze in the Gazebos bordering the cliff at Blooming Bay!

Ponmudi is a hill station in the Trivandrum District of Kerala, India; north-east of Trivandrum City at an altitude of 1100 meters. Ponmudi Peak is a part of the Western Ghats mountain range that runs parallel to the Arabian Sea. Ponmudi is one of the best hill stations you can never forget. There is a lovely waterfall spot, but you will enjoy the forest and trekking even more than the waterfalls. Ponmudi waterfalls is inside the forest, approximately 1.5kms beyond where vehicles can even reach.
