Jagannath is not confined to one form of God. In Puri, He stands where Shiva’s stillness, Adi Shakti’s creative power, and Krishna’s boundless compassion converge—reminding us that Truth is one, though devotion sees it through many sacred forms.

Some Odia scholars and saints even describe Jagannath as embodying the Trimurti and Tridevi simultaneously:

* His large, all-seeing eyes symbolize the all-pervading Brahman.
* His dark form recalls Krishna.
* His stillness resembles Shiva in meditation.
* His power is inseparable from Maa Bimala.
* His compassion extends to all beings without distinction.

This is one reason Puri has often been described not simply as a Vaishnava pilgrimage but as a meeting point of all major streams of Sanatana Dharma.

A traditional saying captures the spirit:

“In Puri, Vishnu is never without Shiva, and Shiva is never without Shakti. Jagannath is the center in whom all paths”

It’s said Krishna once wished to hear his own flute played with the same love that Hanuman had once chanted Rama’s name like.

When Hanuman arrived, Krishna welcomed him as Rama, and Hanuman’s heart overflowed. The story is cherished because it conveys a timeless truth rather than serving as a historical episode: the Divine meets the devotee in the form the devotee loves most.

When wisdom (Krishna) guides your mind and devotion (Hanuman) steadies your heart, then even life’s greatest battles can be faced without fear.

The relationship between Krishna and Hanuman ultimately points beyond two personalities. It reminds us that God may appear in many forms, but pure devotion recognizes the same Divine presence everywhere.

Vrindavan, being the place where Krishna spent his childhood, is a focal point for celebrations, emphasizing devotion and spiritual guidance. The day also commemorates the birth anniversary of Maharishi Veda Vyasa, the compiler of the Vedas and author of the Mahabharata.

Vrindavan, being deeply connected to Lord Krishna, emphasizes the importance of his teachings on ethics, morality, and devotion, as found in the Bhagavad Gita. In Vrindavan, the celebration often includes the Govardhan Parikrama (circumambulation of Govardhan Hill), a practice particularly significant on this day.

Equally delicious accompaniments which include tamatar chutney, pudina chutney and a kuchumber salad😊! Just as my mother would make it…her blessings, warmth and love has conceived the loving abodes that we have and her food has always been soul food as everyone would always recall💕we are overwhelmed when we strive to serve, keeping her in our minds and hearts❤️Hare Krishna
