Tonight in Casteldilago ✨🎶

There are evenings when the history of our village becomes part of the experience.

This evening, Friday 28 August at 7:00 PM, the beautiful Church of San Valentino in Casteldilago will host the premiere of San Valentino, an oratorio in two acts created especially for this historic church.

With music by 17th- and 18th-century composers including Loreto di Vittori, Alessandro Stradella, Antonio Caldara and Giacomo Carissimi, the evening brings together soloists and the Laboratorio del Canto Borgo San Valentino under the direction of Christian Kabitz.

Whether you live nearby or are visiting Umbria, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience music, history and the atmosphere of Casteldilago in a very special setting.

You stop to fill your water bottle… and accidentally spend ten minutes admiring the fountain, the mountains, and the view.

Throughout the village, fountains created by renowned artists provide fresh drinking water to locals and visitors alike.

Art, cold water, and an Umbrian view.

Some Mondays begin with emails.

This one began with a walk through Casteldilago and somehow ended with 47 new photos on our camera roll.

We kept saying, “Wait. Just one more.”

That is the trouble with this village: every corner gives you another reason to stop.

Saturday found us.
We were minding our own business… and then the wine glasses appeared.

That is how afternoons in Casteldilago have a way of going.

One minute you are “just going to sit for a second,” and the next, you are enjoying the light, the quiet, the stone walls, and wondering why every Saturday does not come with an Umbrian balcony.
