About a fortnight ago, we had the pleasure of hosting a Belgian family for a week. Probably one of the
most intense weeks we have ever had. A family hungry for Naples and its culture, its beauty, and its history. We barely had time to land and were already on Vesuvius for a wonderful tour, followed by the Royal Palace of Caserta and its history. Over the following days, we thoroughly explored the Phlegraean Fields and their wonders, the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts, my beloved Ravello. Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples with all its views and some of its countless museums and churches, my beloved and favorite church of Gesu Nuovo. Procida, Ischia, and Capri. All in one week, we devoured miles. But what I completely agreed with was their opinion of the Phlegraean Cuisine, which, in my opinion, is far superior to many others. In Campania, it’s absolutely the best, but it can easily compete with any Italian region. I’ve always believed this: we’re masters in the kitchen, and our quality puts us on the podium... in alphabetical order, I thank them for the magnificent experience they provided:
Abraxas, Aguglia, Baya Restaurant, Capo Blu, Esperia, La Fontania al Mare, Lost Paradise, Osteria delle Donne, and Pizzeria Sorbillo, the only one far from Phlegraean Fields, amazing pizza .
We could have visited so many other places, but we didn’t have time, at least with them.
