We're in Lonely Planet.🌎
We had no idea. A couple told us at check-in this week, bags still at their feet, their own copy of the guide open in their hands: "You know you're in here, right?" Lonely Planet had come to Bardolino, stayed with us, looked around, and quietly put Bardoliners in its Italian Lakes guide. We can't think of a better way to find out.
Nine years ago we opened six rooms in a quiet street of the old town, with more heart than experience. Since then we've just tried to care a little more each season: the way we say hello, the coffee in the morning, a tip on where to eat and what not to miss around the lake, the way we say goodbye. Nothing big. We call it the Bardoliners Attitude. We never imagined it would end up in a guidebook.
Thank you, from the heart. To Marta, who has lived every single day of this with me. To Monica, Ayako and everyone who has loved this place like their own. To the guests who trusted us when we were brand new and far from perfect, and to all of you who keep coming back and keep sending your friends.
This is yours as much as ours.❤️
And yes, it's bigger than us. A small house in a small town, and now a page in the same guide we've always looked up to. We never aimed for this. We just wanted every guest to leave a little happier than they arrived. Turns out someone noticed.
We're still smiling. And we'll keep doing what we love, with the same care, a little more joy, and a pride we're not quite used to yet.
