Escape the heat of the city?
Today we visited Dognaccia-
On the way you can stop at a cable suspension walk bridge at Ponte Sospeso which is a real test for fear of heights!
Free of charge and well worth the stop.
In the winter a small ski resort, in the summer a way to escape the heat and have a bit of fun.
Arriving in Cutigliano head for the Funivia cable car.
Options there are to buy a return ticket or like we did one way and mountain bike it down.
Now you can off road but we took the e-bike easy option as the off roading was really for the experienced rider.
Mostly downhill with excellent resurfaced roads for the most part near the top and got a little bumpy in places near the bottom.
The roads are quiet and I’d be happy to take road wise children down them with very little traffic.
At the top you have a couple of bars/ ristoranti.
We had a lovely focaccia panini and waters for 3 people at a cost of €17.
You can easily take sandwiches and they’re are various places to sit in the shade.
There are a couple of children’s playgrounds and the adventure park.
Our purpose was to do the on rail bobsled.
Looks like a mini railed roller coaster with a bucket seat.
You can ride this 2 at a time or solo so if you have a youngster they sit between your legs and both have seat belt.
Now for romantic purposes and because my wife is an adrenaline j***y where she knows it’s going to be much scarier with me in the breaks she opted to pillion up on the first ride.
What a rush and at 55 and 50 ‘’ci sentiamo nuovo giovani’-
Probably wrong excuse my Italian!
At the ticket sales it’s important to note-
We asked for 3 lots of 5 rides so I asked for that?
Fortunately a man stepped in and said it’s cheaper to buy a 10 and a 5
3 lots of 5 rides, as I thought we needed a ticket each, would have been €54
But buying a 10 and a 5 ride results in saving €8
One way travel up on the cable car is €7 each for adults
Return €12
We opted for a €7 ride and a €10 ride down on the mountain bike so just an extra €5 for a refreshing downhill ride with not much peddling on the ebike at all through shaded forests.
Drop the backs of at the bottom cable car station.

Pay your €10 at the top
Download a sat nav app no cost and not needed
Leave a photo form of ID
Your ID is waiting at the bottom for you when you drop your bikes
No forms to fill and very un Italian simplicity.
And no I’m not country bashing everything is mainly over complicated here according to my Italian neighbours 🤷♂️
You can also book in advance tandem paragliding which we will be doing at some point and there is an in and above the trees climb and zip wire
