October 2–4 | South Tyrolean Bread & Strudel Market in Brixen
The smell of freshly baked bread fills the streets of Brixen… and this weekend, you’ll definitely want to follow it. 🤎
From October 2 to 4, Brixen’s Cathedral Square becomes one of the tastiest places in South Tyrol. For three days, the South Tyrolean Bread & Strudel Market celebrates local baking traditions, regional ingredients and genuine craftsmanship.
Think Vinschger Paarlen, crispy Schüttelbrot, traditional farmhouse bread and, of course, South Tyrolean apple strudel.
And the best part for our Gerharts guests? You’re right in the middle of it all.
Simply leave your apartment and stroll through Brixen’s historic old town to Cathedral Square. No car, no searching for parking – just step outside and enjoy the atmosphere.
Don’t miss the bread-baking workshop!
You can even try baking your own bread – free of charge and without registration.
Adults aged 15+:
10:00–11:00 & 12:00–13:00
Children aged 6–14:
14:00–15:00 & 16:00–17:00
Please note: On Friday, due to the official opening at 10:00, the first bread-baking workshop starts at 12:00.
Families can also discover more about Brixen’s historic bakers’ and millers’ guild during special children’s tours at the Diocesan Museum Hofburg Brixen on Friday.
Another detail we love: the Bread & Strudel Market is organised as a Green Event, with a focus on regional products, sustainable mobility and responsible use of resources.
Our Gerharts tip:
Come hungry. Taste your way through the market. Pick up some Paarl or Schüttelbrot to enjoy back at your apartment. And when it comes to apple strudel… sharing is entirely optional.
