If you're staying in the valley and looking for somewhere special for lunch, we're always happy to point guests towards

A family-run restaurant that's been part of life in Val Borbera for generations, serving local ingredients and traditional flavours with care and creativity.

The restaurant has been welcoming diners since 1919 and the food is wonderful.

What we enjoy most when we visit is taking our time.

A long lunch.
A good conversation.
A view of the hills.
And nowhere else we need to be.

These are the places that make a stay in the valley so special.

We've been reminiscing about the renovation again.

This room, tucked away on the top floor, started life as little more than bare stone walls.

Looking at it now, it's hard to imagine.

Back then, there were no finished walls, no soft lighting, no comfortable bed waiting for tired walkers at the end of the day.

Just stone, dust, plans, and possibility.

Photo by photo, you can see it slowly taking shape until it became the room guests know today.

A reminder that beautiful things rarely happen all at once.

Cherry season has arrived in the valley 🍒

On the walk back from lunch, we found ourselves stopping beneath a tree heavy with fruit.

It's often the smallest moments that stay with you here.

Not the things you schedule. Not the things you rush to see.

Just a quiet afternoon, a winding path, and the taste of summer straight from the branch.

Shutters opening, one by one.

You choose fresh tomatoes without rushing.
A few quiet conversations along the way.
Pausing for a moment longer than you meant to.

By the time the sun reaches the rooftops,
you realise there’s nowhere else you need to be.

Over the past few years, we've seen how this place naturally invites people to slow down - to step away from the noise and reconnect with themselves and each other.

So we're now welcoming small, intimate retreat groups.
