A soli 15 minuti di auto e soli 30 di bus, da Ca' del Sol, si trova la meravigliosa Cala della Capitana. Fondale basso e di sabbia bianchissima e finissima, senza dubbio una delle spiagge più belle del litorale di Cagliari e di Quartu Sant'Elena.
Vorrai sicuramente conoscere da dove deriva il nome "della Capitana" ma da una leggenda!
Intorno al 1000 quando il sud Sardegna cominciò ad essere flagellato dalle scoribande saracene, proprio questa cala, pare fosse stata scelta da un feroce pirata arabo quale rifugio.
Dopo una delle tante incursioni verso l'interno a caccia di ricchezze materiali ma anche di schiavi da vendere poi in nord-africa, s'imbatte in una splendida schiava di cui s'innamorò rendendola sua pari ovvero Capitana, lasciandole in custodia un' inestimabile tesoro!
Il pirata un giorno non fece mai più ritorno e la Capitana si ritrovò ricchissima ma pure tristissima: morì guardando da questa straordinaria cala l'orizzonte sperando di vedere ritornare prima o poi il suo amato sul suo vascello di pirata! ..e il tesoro? ..! 😜

You will surely want to know where the name "della Capitana" comes from, oh yeah! it's a legend! Around the 1000 year, when southern Sardinia began to be scourged by Saracens raids, this place, it seems, was chosen by a ferocious Arab pirate as a refuge. After one of the many incursions towards the interior in search of slaves to sell in North Africa, he comes across a beautiful slave with whom he fell in love making her his equal, namely Capitana, leaving her the secret of a priceless treasure!
