Each room is different from the next and preserves its own unique identity, where the character of the historic residence harmoniously meets the comfort and care of today. From this room, for example, you can admire the sea in the distance, the outline of the mountains, and even the magnificent 16th-century fresco in the grand hall, visible through an evocative internal glass window.

Convento La Perla is not a holiday home like the others: it is a place rich in history, art, and beauty, left abandoned for many years and now brought back to life through a careful restoration process that has transformed it into a magical place of incomparable charm.

Among its most precious treasures is the extraordinary 16th-century fresco by Giovanni Battista Ghirlanda, restored in its original sections and now once again visible in all its magnificence. Having lunch in the grand hall that hosts it, reading a book, or simply pausing to admire it becomes a suspended, almost contemplative experience. A small moment of ecstasy, between art and silence.

The magnificent Malaspina Castle of Massa and Convento La Perla are not only close to one another: they also share a deep connection with the history of this land.
The Convent, a place rich in memory and today a refined holiday home, already appears in historical records in the 15th century, when within its walls the men of Carrara swore allegiance to the Cybo Malaspina family, rulers of these territories at the time.

The Malaspina Castle, a medieval fortress and principal residence of the dynasty, still dominates the city of Massa today from its spectacular position. In this photograph, seen from behind from the hills above the town, it almost seems to rise toward the endless sea.
