Villa Monastero.
Funziona più o meno così: arrivi al Maso, chiedi allo Zambo cosa vedere nei dintorni… e dopo tre minuti ti sta già raccontando di Villa Monastero.
Non solo perché è bella. Ma perché è uno di quei posti che, quando li incontri, ti restano proprio in mente. Ci sono il lago, i giardini, l’architettura, gli scorci che spuntano all’improvviso e quell’aria tranquilla che ti fa rallentare un po’.
E forse il bello di arrivare al Maso è anche questo: scoprire luoghi che non erano in programma, ma che poi diventano parte del viaggio.

Villa Monastero.
It goes something like this: you arrive at the Maso, ask Zambo what there is to see in the area… and three minutes later he’s already telling you about Villa Monastero.
Not just because it’s beautiful. But because it’s one of those places that, once you encounter them, really stick in your mind. There’s the lake, the gardens, the architecture, the views that pop up unexpectedly, and that peaceful atmosphere that makes you slow down a bit.
And maybe that’s part of the beauty of arriving at the Maso: discovering places that weren’t on the itinerary, but that then become part of the journey.

Un posto dove stare bene e basta: riposarsi, prendere il sole, leggere due pagine e dimenticarsi per un po’ che esiste anche il resto.

Madonna del Ghisallo.
A poca distanza dal Maso, c’è una salita che chi ama la bici conosce bene.
Porta al Santuario della Madonna del Ghisallo, protettrice dei ciclisti, in uno dei punti più iconici del lago.

La strada si arrampica tra boschi e curve, con tratti che si fanno sentire davvero.
È una di quelle salite che mettono alla prova, ma che sanno anche restituire molto: in cima, la vista si apre tra lago e montagne e tutto trova un altro ritmo.

Lo Zambo la conosce bene.
E sa che certe fatiche hanno senso solo quando sai cosa ti aspetta dopo.

Madonna del Ghisallo.
Not far from the Maso, there’s a climb that cycling enthusiasts know well.
It leads to the Sanctuary of Madonna del Ghisallo, patron saint of cyclists, at one of the lake’s most iconic spots.

The road winds through woods and curves, with sections that really take their toll.
It’s one of those climbs that put you to the test, but also offer a great reward: at the top, the view opens up between the lake and the mountains, and everything takes on a different rhythm.

Lo Zambo knows it well.
And he knows that certain efforts only make sense when you know what awaits you afterward.
