Earlier today I overcame a minor internal barrier and finally made it into the main tower of Castello Veggi. 🏰🙌🏻

A taste of Castelletto Molina 🍒

This locally produced cherry jam is made with 75% cherries, cane sugar and lemon – simple, local and delicious. I tried it this morning on my wife’s home made baked buns with Danish cheese! Works!

The producer is based right here in Castelletto Molina, and going forward, we hope to offer our guests a selection of local products from the area, supporting local producers and bringing the flavours of Piemonte closer to the table.

Today’s second stop – and a chance to taste Barolo from one of its most iconic vineyards.

Castello Veggi made the front page of the newspaper Fyens Stiftstidende today - with two articles about the project.

One focuses on how Henrik Busch-Larsen’s love for Piemonte became the beginning of Castello Veggi. The other looks more closely at the plans for transforming the historic borgo.

Both articles are written in Danish and sit behind a paywall. Nevertheless, having the journey recognised at this early stage means a great deal to us.

The gates opened. And Castello Veggi came alive again.

More than 80 people came through the gates on 21 July - from Castelletto Molina and the surrounding area, and from further afield.

For a few hours, the old borgo was filled with laughter, curious faces and conversations in different languages.

Children explored the courtyards. People wandered through rooms that have been quiet for years. Stories and memories were shared.

And we loved seeing the moment when people discovered something they hadn't noticed before - a detail, a story, a room, a glimpse of what this place might become.

We were honoured to welcome Mayor Luca Gabutto of Castelletto Molina and Mayor Simone Nosenzo of Nizza Monferrato, together with architect Andrea Capellino, Marialuisa Marinetti, our neighbours, friends and everyone who came to explore Castello Veggi with us.

For us, that was the magic of the day.

Not just opening the gates, but seeing life return behind them. ✨
