The gates opened. And Castello Veggi came alive again.

More than 80 people came through the gates on 21 July - from Castelletto Molina and the surrounding area, and from further afield.

For a few hours, the old borgo was filled with laughter, curious faces and conversations in different languages.

Children explored the courtyards. People wandered through rooms that have been quiet for years. Stories and memories were shared.

And we loved seeing the moment when people discovered something they hadn't noticed before - a detail, a story, a room, a glimpse of what this place might become.

We were honoured to welcome Mayor Luca Gabutto of Castelletto Molina and Mayor Simone Nosenzo of Nizza Monferrato, together with architect Andrea Capellino, Marialuisa Marinetti, our neighbours, friends and everyone who came to explore Castello Veggi with us.

For us, that was the magic of the day.

Not just opening the gates, but seeing life return behind them. ✨

Yesterday marked the beginning of a new chapter for Castello Veggi.

For the first time, we opened the doors and invited guests inside to experience a place shaped by centuries of history, generations of people and countless stories.

Throughout the years, Castello Veggi has evolved. Parts have changed, others have been carefully preserved, and every generation has left something behind.

Now, it is our privilege to continue that story.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared memories, asked thoughtful questions and walked these historic halls with us.

This project is about far more than restoring a building.
It is about honouring the past while creating a place that future generations will make memories in. Now you’re a part of that history too.

And we are only just getting started. 💚

Hidden behind one of Castello Veggi's heavy wooden doors lies one of the most remarkable rooms in the entire borgo.

For centuries, this intimate space served as the family's private chapel.
A place for quiet reflection, prayer and life's most important moments.
The hand-painted walls, vaulted ceiling and original altar have witnessed generations come and go.

This room won't become something new.
It will remain exactly what it has always been: A place of peace. To pause. Where history is still felt in every brushstroke and every ray of sunlight.

Some spaces don't ask to be reinvented - They simply ask to be cared for.

If these walls could speak, whose story do you think they would tell first?

Before arriving at Castello Veggi, visitors would first pass this small building - the village’s original pesa pubblica (public weigh station).

For generations, it served as the heart of local trade. Here, wagons loaded with the region's famous grapes, hazelnuts, and grain were weighed and recorded to ensure fair trade and collect local taxes. 🍇🌰

Today, it reminds us that history isn't only found in grand castles and towers. It's also found in the everyday places that kept a community alive.
It's details like these that make Castello Veggi so much more than a castle.

It is woven into the story of the entire village of Castelletto Molina. 🇮🇹

Here's an ai generated idea we're working on to make use of what already is: A café or snackbar. We're working closely with the mayor to ensure the best outcome for the citizens and turists that might be interested in visiting.

What do you think? What would you make out of it?

High above this fireplace, the original family coat of arms still watches over the room, just as it has for generations. A symbol that never left.

Beneath it, the family motto reads: "Sola Virtus Astra Petit." Translated: "Only virtue reaches the stars."

A reminder that true greatness is earned through character, perseverance and purpose. That's exactly what we envision to do with Castello Veggi.

What do you think the family behind this coat of arms wanted future generations to remember?

Some details don't need to be redesigned. They need to be respected. Integrated.

These original wooden ceilings have watched over Castello Veggi for centuries. Every beam tells a story of craftsmanship, time and the people who came before us.

As restoration begins, preserving details like these is one of our greatest responsibilities. Because history isn't something we want to replace - It's something we want to bring into our lives.

If these ceilings could tell one story, what do you think it would be?
