When we started working to bring back to life what today is Le Balze di Rosennano, it was clear almost immediately that we would have to renovate the buildings and change some characteristics to adapt them to today's demands: light, air, landscape enjoyment... Those are the needs that everyone who decides to stay in the countryside has.
All three buildings had cellars and former stables on the ground floors and living spaces on the higher floors, attics included. All the spaces had few tiny openings, holes in the walls to let the light in, tiny doors just big enough to let people and animal through. All the facades have been studied and re-imagined, introducing big doorways on the ground floors, windows and balconies on the higher floors, trying to find balanced solutions not only for the buildings, but for the whole village.

Quando abbiamo iniziato a lavorare per ridare vita a quelle che sono oggi Le Balze di Rosennano, è risultato chiaro quasi subito che si sarebbe dovuto ristrutturare gli edifici e cambiarne alcune caratteristiche per adeguarli alle esigenze di luce, di aria, di godimento dei paesaggi che oggi chiunque decida di abitare in campagna pretende di avere.
Tutti e tre gli edifici avevano cantine ed ex stalle ai piani terreni e spazi adibiti ad abitazioni ai piani alti, sottotetti compresi. Tutti questi spazi avevano poche piccole aperture, buchi nelle murature per dare luce, porticine giusto sufficienti per lasciar passare persone e animali. Le facciate di tutti e tre gli edifici sono state studiate e ripensate, introducendo grandi portoni al piano terra, finestre e logge ai piani alti, cercando di ottenere delle soluzioni equilibrate non solo per i singoli edifici, ma per l'intero borgo.
