Le Lappe is a celebration of Tuscan craft and tradition. Much of our furniture is centuries old, painstakingly resorted by experts. One of the finest pieces is a Genovese bed, covered in a rare 18th century silk ikat fabric. For six months it was meticulously restored by museum specialists in the hills above Florence, before making its way home to Le Lappe, now the cornerstone of our room, Le Querce.

Thinking ahead to our favorite season, fall. Each of our rooms has at least one wood-burning fireplace, an ideal place to take in the breathtaking scenery of our estate as the trees change color.

A corner room in our Torre, I Corbezzoli has beautifully hand-painted striped walls and a bespoke campaign style iron bed made by a local artigiani. The bathroom, one of our largest, has a deep soaking tub with a view on the estate olive groves and a massive shower designed to resemble one of our stables.

Seasonable, sustainable, local. Situated in one of Italy’s renowned agricultural areas, at Le Lappe we serve delicious but simple food, harvesting ingredients from our estate and those that neighbor us, ever changing with the seasons — much like the landscape around us.

Now and Then. At the base of our second structure, il Conventino, which dates from the 16th century, is the room Le Querce — named for the predominant species of tree in our woods. Centered around an extraordinary 18th century Genovese bed, it is the perfect balance of intimate and refined. Centuries of humanity have left their mark here, but our story began thirty years ago when our owner, Maria Lorenza Benini first began the challenge of restoring these structures to create our hotel. Today, these works continue, ensuring Le Lappe will always be a place of beauty and evolution.

Day and Night in the ‘Winter Garden’ — our restaurant, expertly built by hand to resemble an English-style conservatory. By day it is filled with soft light and a gentle breeze. At night it glows with the light of nearly one hundred candles.

I Pini is our largest room, comprising a separate bedroom, living room, and dressing room. Layered with carefully chosen antique furniture and bespoke upholstery it’s the perfect space for a longer stay with us.
