With a month until our reopening the interiors of Le Lappe, like the wider estate, are coming into full bloom.

Our newly restored and redecorated rooms are nearing completion and will soon welcome our friends and guests back. Follow along as we prepare final touches in the coming weeks.

While work continues across the estate, from planting cypresses to herding cattle, we pay a call to our tapezzeria (upholsterer) set within Florence’s Santo Spirito.

A stone’s throw from Palazzo Pitti, Mauro, and his team, have been creating some of the finest upholstery for decades. Using centuries old techniques and traditional materials they are breathing new life into much loved family pieces and new antiques thoughtfully sourced by and from dealers and auction houses across Europe.

Renowned painter Assia Pallavicino is a native Florentine and one of our closest collaborators. A longtime friend, Assia and her team are meticulously painting each of our eleven uniquely-decorated rooms. Colors are informed by the changing seasons of the estate and the textures and materials that surround us. Assia trained at the prestigious Van der Kelen Logelain in Brussels, the oldest school for decorative painting in the world, and is responsible for some of Europes most beautiful interiors. We are thrilled to have her back home in Italy to help us realize our renewed vision for Le Lappe.

Our beloved chef, Sara, is the beating heart of Le Lappe. Born and raised next to our estate she learned to cook from the women in her family: her mother and grandmother. Her locally sourced and inspired food is what true Tuscan cooking should be: delicious and simple, made of the best ingredients. For the next months follow along as she prepares much loved classics, passed down from generations, and tests new ideas for our reopening.

At the core of our philosophy at Le Lappe is an emphasis on the beauty of artisanal craftsmanship. We are not just a hotel, but a showcase for the best of Tuscany. One of our cherished collaborators is Fratelli Bonaitui.

Perched high above Florence in the village of Fiesole, they have created some of the finest cabinetry and furniture for over a century. We visited their workshop as they put the finishing touches on the dining chairs for our restaurant.

Based off of an antique set we found they are expertly crafted and hand-finished.

Spring brings rebirth and regeneration both outside and inside as a team of expert artisans work to restore our treasured ancient buildings.
