CASALE 36 is a restored country house in the sixties on the ruins of an old stone farmhouse of 1800 built by our father, Bartolomeo. In this house my brother and I were born and grew up, with our parents and paternal grandmother, Grandma Maria. Like all old country homes the structure provided the apartment on the first floor with the attic to keep the chestnuts and grapes and on the ground floor
cellar and stables for animals. The name Casale 36 derives from the locations where the house is located, Casale n. 36 was the old address, before that all the individual locations of the country were brought together in Cortona Case Sparse and for us it represents the address of our childhood, when we did not have the phone and communications were done exclusively by mail. Over the years, the House has undergone several modifications and extensions, then because of the fate of each member of the family, in 2007 it was uninhabited. Seeing it empty and abandoned aroused in us a lot of sadness, so we decided to restructure it to make it a holiday rental and make it alive. The renovation was completed in 2011 after three years of weekends, holidays and every spare moment spent in the farmhouse digging, restoring, caulking, painting. It has been hard work but done with so much love for our home, our father who built it and for guests who will be stayng. It’s a love perceptible by the attention to detail and the generosity of our hospitality
