E' una storia particolare, vista con gli occhi delle due coppie che l'hanno vissuta cui destino ha intrecciato vicende parallele che si sono prima incontrate poi separate.

🇬🇧A white road that became a legend

🚴‍♀️There is a white road, just outside Asciano, that for cycling lovers has become almost legendary.

In May, it is pure beauty: everything is green.
The hills, the fields, the edges of the road.

📍We are in the Crete Senesi, about 30 minutes from our home.
The entrance is near the cemetery of Asciano, and from there begins the road that leads to Monte Sante Marie.

Monte Sante Marie is one of the most feared climbs of L’Eroica, the historic non-competitive cycling event created to celebrate old-style cycling, with white roads, vintage bikes and unforgettable Tuscan landscapes.

And slowly, you reach the mythical sign: the symbolic summit of L’Eroica.

This road is not only for race day.
You can experience it all year round: by bike, by car or by quad, always with the respect these places deserve.

🚴‍♀️C’è una strada bianca, appena fuori Asciano, che per chi ama il ciclismo è quasi leggenda.

A maggio è pura meraviglia: tutto è verde.
Le colline, i campi, i bordi della strada.

📍Siamo nelle Crete Senesi, a circa 30 minuti da casa nostra.
L’ingresso si trova vicino al cimitero di Asciano, e da lì inizia il tratto che porta verso Monte Sante Marie.

Monte Sante Marie è una delle salite più temute de L’Eroica, la storica ciclostorica non competitiva nata per celebrare il ciclismo d’altri tempi, tra strade bianche, bici vintage e paesaggi toscani.

E lentamente si arriva al mitico cartello: la cima simbolo dell’Eroica.

Questa strada non si vive solo il giorno della gara.
Puoi percorrerla tutto l’anno: in bici, in macchina o in quad, con il rispetto che questi luoghi meritano.

To get there, you drive through one of the most scenic roads in Chianti: vineyards, winding hills and breathtaking views everywhere.

Volpaia è un piccolissimo borgo medievale nel cuore del Chianti, a circa un’ora da casa nostra.
Per arrivarci attraversi una delle strade panoramiche del Chianti: vigneti, curve tra le colline e panorami incredibili ovunque.

Da quassù si domina tutta la valle.
Silenzio, case in pietra, cantine storiche e quell’atmosfera autentica toscana che oggi è sempre più difficile da trovare.

📍It’s only 20 minutes from here,
and the view over the lake from up there is absolutely incredible.

A place suspended in time, surrounded by silence, nature and breathtaking landscapes.

You can drive all the way up and park where the paved road ends…
then simply enjoy one of the most beautiful views over Lake Trasimeno.

One of those authentic places
that truly makes you slow down and enjoy Tuscany and Umbria at their purest.

Here you’ll find one of the oldest still-functioning water mills in Tuscany.
It’s one of the most photographed places in the Valdarno area, with stone houses overlooking the water and postcard-perfect views.

A gorge carved into the rock, a medieval bridge overlooking the village, and the chance to stop for an aperitivo…
�with the sound of the stream beneath you.

🛍️And for shopping lovers…�just 10 minutes from here, there’s also the Prada Factory Store.

❤️It’s one of the places closest to our heart and it’s considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Qui trovi uno dei mulini ad acqua più antichi ancora funzionanti in Toscana.

È uno dei luoghi più fotografati del Valdarno, con case in pietra affacciate sull’acqua e scorci che sembrano usciti da una cartolina.
Una gola scavata nella roccia, un ponte medievale che domina il borgo e la possibilità di fermarti per un aperitivo…con il suono del torrente sotto di te.

The day of the Befana is the perfect last excuse to be here.
Wander through timeless alleys, get lost in a life-size nativity scene, breathe history and tradition.

It was raining.
But the atmosphere felt even more real.

Then night falls.
And something truly unique in the world happens.

The largest Christmas tree in the world lights up on the slopes of Monte Ingino:
750 meters high.
8 kilometers of lights.
Visible from miles away.

A moment that, honestly, should be experienced at least once in a lifetime.

Il giorno della Befana è l’ultima scusa perfetta per esserci.
Passeggiare tra vicoli senza tempo, perdersi nel presepe a grandezza naturale, respirare storia e tradizione.

Pioveva.
Ma l’atmosfera era ancora più vera.

Poi cala il buio.
E succede qualcosa di unico al mondo.
