L’ultimo viaggio della stagione di The Wine Table ci porta in Sicilia.

Sabato 12 settembre, al Convento Francescano, incontriamo Donnafugata , una delle cantine che più hanno contribuito a raccontare nel mondo la ricchezza e le tante anime del vino siciliano.

Per una sera, Cilento e Sicilia si incontrano attorno a un’unica tavola.

Cinque vini ci accompagneranno in un viaggio attraverso l’isola: dall’Etna vulcanico di Bollicina Gold e Isolano, alla Sicilia sud-orientale di Floramundi, fino a Mille e una Notte e alla viticoltura eroica di Pantelleria raccontata dal Ben Ryé.

A ciascun calice, una portata dell’Osteria del Convento, costruita come sempre a partire dalla nostra cucina e dai prodotti del territorio.

There is something different about the light at the end of summer.

The sun rises a little softer over the old stone, the mornings become quieter, and the Convento slowly begins to change its rhythm.

August may be ending today, but perhaps this is when one of the most beautiful times in Cilento begins.

Long breakfasts. Empty roads. Quiet villages. Warm days and cooler evenings. The sea still carrying the memory of summer.

A slower season is about to begin,
and we might love it even more.

Gentle lights at Convento Francescano. ✨

And a little piece of Cilento, now travelling all the way to the Netherlands. 🇳🇱

We are incredibly happy to be part of the latest issue of Smaak van Italië, with a beautiful multi-page journey through Cilento: its ancient villages, wild coastline, traditions, food and the people choosing to preserve and give new life to this extraordinary land.

Among those pages, there is also a little piece of our story: Convento Francescano, Cuccaro Vetere, our family, and the idea of a different kind of luxuryc made of space, silence, authenticity and a slower way of living.

This summer, we invited Agi Sibiga back to the Convento to capture what has changed, and what remains timeless.

Her way of seeing the evening light falling through our ancient cloister, a table slowly coming to life, a dish leaving the kitchen, the quiet moments before dinner begins.

Because the Convento is always evolving, but some things remain beautifully the same.

Even summer needs a moment to breathe.
After weeks of sun, the rain finally returned to the Cilento hills.

Here, we call it “Trupìa”, the sudden summer rain that rolls down from the mountains on August afternoons.

And for a little while, everything changes.
The air turns lighter, the heat loosens its grip, and as the clouds move away, the last light of the day finds its way through the arches of our ancient cloister.

Imagine having dinner in a 14th-century convent. Then the opera begins. ✨

Last night was, quite simply, the most beautiful evening we have ever hosted at the Convento.

Under the arches of our ancient cloister, the extraordinary voices of Anna Maria and Mauro, soprano and tenor, accompanied by Lello on the piano, transported us to another time.

Opera, Neapolitan lirical music, dinner under the stars and a few moments of pure emotion we will never forget.

Some evenings are planned, others become memories while you’re still living them.

Per la notte più attesa del Palio del Ciuccio, il forno di Stratto × Convento Francescano lascia per una sera il Convento e arriva in paese.

Vi aspettiamo al nostro stand gastronomico in Via Fausto Laviano, proprio sotto il Monumento al Palio: superata Piazza Antonio Valiante, dove si svolge il Palio, imboccate la strada in discesa sulla sinistra e ci troverete dopo circa 100 metri.

Prima, però, vivete il Palio.
Poi perdetevi per le strade del paese.

L’Osteria del Convento resterà regolarmente aperta ed è già al completo.
