Christmas Eve in Viola .An ancient pastoral the couple with the youngest child in the village who appear in the nativity, along with shepherds and real sheep too! Followed by carols in church and hot chocolate and panettone, for all around the burning logs. a unique evening.

The rear terrace is coming on well. Dan will get second vertical support on today. Then scaffolding can be removed. Will have to finish after the UK trip.

Today's tomato harvest from just one row . We will be eating a lot of Tom's!! Also beans and pumpkins to add to courgette and cucumbers.

Mondovi piazza artists market. Visited today and stayed for lunch. Lovely place to go for a day and pretty close to our house too.

Buona sera. The only place to cool down is up! So up the mountain for a walk this evening, cooler and beautiful. We found an old house, be nice to have for a summer retreat, it's very old and in the most tranquil place. Then after a long walk a cold beer at a little summer bar near the Maddona del Neve . A lovely Sunday evening despite the heat.

Just had a fine time at new friends place over the Republica weekend holiday. Fantastic food. And this morning we take the car to the motor licence office for its test hopefully to get its Italian registration 🤞🤞

Mandy Fleming look at the beans you gave us. I planted them only 5 days ago!! Now Dan is rushing to get the poles out to plant them!! So fast! We are very pleased with them. 😊

Great day out. Photos here of the visits we made to towns nearby in the Langhe wine region. First Bossalosca the rose town and a beautiful coffee shop for coffee and croissants. Then Diano d Alba and the views of vineyards from the magnificent church above the town. Then motorcycle heaven at Alba bike show followed by a cooling beer and people watching in Alba main street. Lovely relaxed and sunny Saturday. Now to watch Eurovision in Turin (on telly)!!

Lovely day out in Cuneo today and amazing lunch at a vegan (yes vegan!!) Restaurant in this beautiful city. Well done Ninfood on the great food and wine and the dessert was a winner.
